Unlimited BBQ feast · Game meat specialities · Vibrant atmosphere
The famous Carnivore Restaurant is a must-visit for meat lovers and adventure seekers. Located in the Lang'ata suburb, this iconic open-air restaurant serves an endless supply of roasted meats — including beef, pork, lamb, chicken, and exotic game meats like crocodile, camel, and ostrich — carved directly onto your plate from traditional Maasai swords.
Since 1980, Carnivore has been a landmark on Nairobi’s culinary scene, famous for its lively ambiance, the “Dawa” cocktail (vodka, honey, lime), and the tradition of lowering the white flag when you surrender to the feast. This half-day tour includes round-trip transfers, making it a perfect evening or lunch escape.
Departure times: Lunch: 12:00 PM | Dinner: 6:00 PM. Duration approx. 2–3 hours.
Our driver/guide meets you at your Nairobi hotel or residence. Departure for lunch session at 11:45 AM, dinner session at 5:45 PM. Short scenic drive (approx. 20 min) to Carnivore Restaurant in Lang'ata.
Upon arrival, you're greeted with a warm bowl of the restaurant's signature soup. Prepare for the feast as you’re seated in the open-air garden, surrounded by indigenous trees and a central charcoal pit.
Waiters in zebra-striped aprons circulate with massive skewers of sizzling meat: beef rump, pork ribs, lamb chops, chicken wings, and rotating game options (crocodile, camel, ostrich). All you can eat — keep your flag raised for more!
After the feast, enjoy the legendary "Dawa" (vodka, lime, honey, and crushed ice) or opt for fresh juice. A light dessert and coffee are served before lowering the white flag to signal satisfaction.
After approximately 2 hours, you'll be driven back to your Nairobi hotel, concluding a memorable culinary adventure.
