Lake Naivasha is a freshwater gem in the Great Rift Valley, famous for its stunning scenery, abundant birdlife, and pods of hippos. This day trip offers a relaxing boat ride where you can glide past hippos basking in the shallows, marvel at fish eagles diving for prey, and optionally walk on Crescent Island � a sanctuary where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest.
Your day includes a scenic drive through the Rift Valley viewpoint, a guided boat excursion (approx. 1.5�2 hours), picnic lunch by the lake, and time to explore Elsamere, the former home of Joy Adamson (Born Free). This is the perfect trip for nature lovers, photographers, and families.

Our driver picks you up from your Nairobi hotel. Drive north-west towards the Great Rift Valley.
Stop at the iconic viewpoint for panoramic photos of Mt. Longonot, Mt. Suswa, and the valley floor.
Begin your boat safari across the freshwater lake. Watch hippos grunt and spray, spot African fish eagles, cormorants, and pelicans. The boat captain brings you close to key bird nesting areas.
Step onto Crescent Island, a unique wildlife sanctuary. Walk among free-roaming giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and waterbucks � no predators, so it's safe and perfect for photos.
Enjoy a delicious packed lunch at a designated picnic spot with breathtaking lake views.
