Depart Nairobi at 6:30 AM for a scenic drive through Kenya's countryside, passing the equator line. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve around noon with a short game drive en route to your lodge. After lunch and rest, enjoy an afternoon game drive at 4:00 PM.

Begin with an early morning game drive at 6:15 AM. Return for breakfast and relax, or opt for a cultural visit to a Samburu village or Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (extra cost). Afternoon game drive exploring desert landscapes and Mount Ololokwe.

Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk (giraffe-necked antelope), Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. These species are unique to northern Kenya's arid ecosystem.
Samburu is approximately 345 km (214 miles) north of Nairobi. The drive takes about 5-6 hours with scenic stops along the way.
June to October and December to March offer the best wildlife viewing as animals concentrate around the Ewaso Nyiro River during dry seasons.
